It is a tradition that following The Queen’s birthday parade, members of The Royal Family gather on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to wave to the crowds. It is also a tradition that the very last event of the day is the playing of the national anthem which all of those present sings along to. However, one young royal was silenced as the anthem was played.

Savannah Phillips, the eldest grandchild of Princess Anne, clearly isn’t a fan of Prince George’s singing voice. Once the national anthem started playing and the future king started singing, his royal cousin clasped his mouth shut.

The young royal then proceeded to give a scary state down the barrel of the television camera.

It was all in good fun and the royal cousins were seen clapping and dancing as the RAF flypast took place above the palace.

George and Savannah, alongside Princess Charlotte and Isla, had a book with them which helped them to identify the different types of aircraft flying over.

This was Savannah and Isla Phillips’ second appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony having also appeared on it at last year’s event.

2018 was the first appearance of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex who watched the RAF flypast together as a married couple.

This was Meghan’s first experience of seeing the thousands of people on The Mall – a sight she will have to get used to in the years to come.
