After a hectic week, The Queen looked relaxed as ever as she was joined by Prince William and Princess Anne in Edinburgh.

Her Majesty has been in Scotland all week, took part in the Order of the Thistle ceremony at St Giles’ Cathedral in Scotland with the assistance of her daughter and grandson.

The trio was dressed in the traditional green velvet robes, white Ostrich feather hats and insignia for the ceremony where new Members of the Order were installed by The Queen.

New additions to the Order of the Thistle are awarded to men or women who have made a significant difference to national life or held a public office role.

Some of the Knights and Ladies of the Thistle are previous Chief Scout of the United Kingdom, Sir Garth Morrison and ex-Director of St Mary’s Music School in Edinburgh, Lady Marion Fraser.

Members of the Royal Family that are part of the Order of the Thistle are the Duke of Edinburgh, the Duke of Cambridge and the Princess Royal.

The Queen, the Knights with the Chancellor Dean and Secretary of the Thistle then head inside the Chapel of the Order of the Thistle for The Queen to install the new additions.

They then continue to the Cathedral for the rest of the Service, followed by a Reception in the Signet Library and a lunch hosted at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

Arriving in Scotland for Holyrood Week, The Queen took part in a variety of audiences, a garden party, and a military parade in Leuchars, Fife making for a packed week.
