Prince George takes a ride on Mike Tindall’s shoulders during family day out

It was a fun family day out Friday as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took their two older children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte to Norfolk’s Burnham Market International Horse Trials.

There, they met up with their cousins, the Tindalls. Zara, William’s first cousin and George’s godmother, was competing in the trials. She finished in third and fifth places in the trials.

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and their cousin, Mia Tindall enjoyed their time playing together at the trials. At one point, five-year-old Prince George was spotting hitching a ride on Mike Tindall’s shoulders, while his sister, three-year-old Charlotte was perched on her mother, the Duchess of Cambridge’s shoulders.

Five-year-old Mia Tindall did not miss out on the fun as her godfather, Prince William carried her on his shoulders. Although, he was spotted wincing a bit as Mia decided to hold on to his ears as they walked.

Young George was seen playing with a sword while Mia tumbled in the grass and played on the fairground in the images taken and released by the Mail on Sunday.

The day started off wet as Zara was forced to warm up for the showjumping in sleet and rain, but luckily, the weather cleared up giving the children great, but chilly, weather to play together in.

An onlooker told the Mail, “They were just like any other family, enjoying a day out and having a lovely time. There were no tantrums thrown by the kids, and they all seemed very down to earth. A few people noticed them, but generally, everyone just carried on as normal.”

Baby Lena Tindall, nine months, was safely and warmly tucked into her pram, but her cousin, Prince Louis (who will turn one later this month) was nowhere to be seen.
